Allopathic medicines of any description are supposed to cause various types of side affects ranging from mild, moderate to severe or serious. It varies from drug to drug that how and to what extent the product may cause side effect to the patient. One more thing worth noting is that the medical condition of an individual patient is also to great extent responsible of causing certain side effects. To remain safe against possible side effects, it is always recommended to read the product label thoroughly and have detailed discussion with your physician about the probable side affects of the drug on your health.

Different drugs have different side effects. Let’s consider the following drugs:

Diuretics: May reduce the body’s supply of mineral called potassium and show symptoms like weakness, leg cramps or tiredness.
Beta Blockers: May cause insomnia, cold hands and feet, depression or tiredness, slower heart beats or symptoms of asthma and even impotence.

Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers: May cause occasional dizziness.

Calcium Channel Blockers: May cause palpitations, swollen ankles, constipation, headache or dizziness.

Alpha Blockers: May cause faster heart rate, dizziness or drop in the blood pressure when the patient stands up after sitting posture.
Combined Alpha & Beta Blockers: The patients taking these drugs may experience the drop in their blood pressure when they stand up.
Central Agonists: May drop blood pressure in upright posture, feel like fainting, drowsiness or sluggishness, dry mouth, fever or anemia, impotence etc.

Peripheral Adrenergic Inhibitors: May cause stuffy nose, diarrhoea, heartburn, nightmares, depression and insomnia.

Blood Vessel Dilators: May cause headaches, swelling around eyes, palpitations or aches and pains in joints.
